As the supreme body, the Conference defines the major policy orientations of the Union. It meets at least once a year, in ordinary session. The Conference appoints the Presidents and members of the Union's bodies and institutions. His Excellency Roch Marc Christian KABORE, President of Burkina Faso, has held the Presidency since March 2021.
